I was born in Cuernavaca Morelos on April 5th, 1977. I started my artistic studies at the age of five with painting at the local school of Fine Arts in the center of the City. Next to my cousin I had a wonderful and creative childhood that will set an important guideline in my life. At the age of fifteen I moved with my family to Mexico City and when I finished high school I began my studies in Interior Design and a year later I joined the School of Professional Initiation of Plastic Arts where I found my vocation with painting, live model drawing, sculpture and engraving. I continued my professional studies at the Centro Morelese de las Artes with a career in visual arts. And right after artistic photography with Saúl Serrano who would be one of my best teachers and currently a close friend. From 2003-2005 I lived in Portland Or. where I painted and exhibited my first collection I painted “Songs of Anxiety” and collaborated with different musicians from the local scene with installation and painting. Then I lived in Brooklyn and made sets for Fred Newman's Castle Theater in Manhattan, N.Y. along with a wonderful colleague, Joseph Spirito. Back in Mexico City I started teaching at the Saúl Serrano Art and Photography Center, teaching drawing, painting and my favorite class using elements of digital photography to intervene with traditional painting. Attracted by the ancient Mayan culture, I move to Yucatan, where I continue to paint and teach painting.WORKI use mixed media to achieve an aesthetic experience that reflects my life. Among the themes that I manage in my work are portraits and self-portraits, a criticism of the lack of common sense and in my most recent work the union of female and male forces. In my work I try to ask questions and establish my own rules. Ideas and feelings are as important to me as the appearance that a work of art reflects. The idea is to open your eyes and see the world differently, break with the traditional to achieve new realities.
